In St. Petersburg , from January 2, to visit restaurants, cafes and shopping centers, you must present QR codes confirming vaccination against CORONAVIRUS or a previous disease. Corresponding changes to the decree on anti-coronavirus restrictions were made by Governor Alexander Beglov.

The requirement does not apply to grocery stores, convenience stores, pharmacies, gas stations, shops without a trading floor, catering establishments at railway stations and at the airport.

Initially, the authorities wanted to make the presentation of QR codes mandatory from December 1, but the deadlines were postponed several times.

Residents of St. Petersburg filed a lawsuit against the authorities because of QR codes Society

At the end of December, the owners of large shopping centers in the city turned to the Ombudsman for Entrepreneurs in St. Petersburg, Alexander Abrosimov, pointing out the “possibility of extremely negative economic consequences” for the shopping center due to the introduction of QR codes and asked to provide support to the industry. The owners of a number of St. Petersburg restaurants, cafes and bars also urged to postpone this measure.

QR codes in St. Petersburg are also needed when visiting sports events, circuses, theaters, museums, cinemas, swimming pools and fitness centers.
