Lockdown may be introduced in the Perm Territory

At a meeting of the operational headquarters to combat the spread of CORONAVIRUS infection, the governor of the Perm Territory announced that a lockdown could be introduced in the region. This was reported by the press service of the government of the Perm Territory.

“The situation with the coronavirus requires immediate action – we must be prepared for the most negative scenario. I urge every resident of the region to strictly comply with all sanitary and restrictive measures, as well as take a course of immunization. Only in this way can we save the most valuable thing - our own HEALTH and the lives of our loved ones, ”concluded Dmitry Makhonin.

According to him, in the event of a deterioration in the situation with the incidence, as well as systematic violations of security measures, the operational headquarters will be forced to take extremely tough measures - to introduce distance in schools, new work restrictions for public catering organizations, shopping centers and institutions in other areas in which mass crowds of people, etc., up to the lockdown.

Over the past day in the Perm region, coronavirus infection was detected in 448 people. The region is ranked 8th in terms of the daily increase in patients with covid among the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Of the new patients, 68 are vaccinated. During this period , 12 people died from covid-19 . Over the entire period of the pandemic in the region, 7,663 patients died from coronavirus. The total number of infected in the Perm region has reached 166,180.

Earlier, RBC Perm reported that Health Minister Anastasia Kruten, at a meeting of the Coronavirus Operational Headquarters, stated that according to Johns Hopkins University specialists, the daily number of confirmed COVID cases in the Kama region could reach 13,000 to 17,000 in 7 weeks. This is 97-120 thousand cases. In this regard, the Governor of the Perm Territory supported the proposals of the Minister of Health Anastasia Kruten to combat the spread of the omicron strain of coronavirus in the Kama region.
