In the Penza region imposed restrictions due to the growth of cases of COVID-19

Acting Governor of the Penza Region Oleg Melnichenko again introduced restrictive measures to combat covid-19 due to the aggravation of the epidemiological situation in the region. This was reported on the website of the regional government.

So, from June 21 in the Penza region, a ban was introduced on the work of restaurants, nightclubs and other entertainment venues from 23:00 to 6:00, the work of food courts and other catering outlets in shopping centers was suspended.

Melnichenko also recalled that in order to develop herd immunity, it is necessary to vaccinate approximately 650 thousand inhabitants of the region (in total, about 1.3 million people live in the region).

He added that the more actively vaccination is carried out, the sooner anti-COVID restrictions will be lifted. “We must convey to every person that vaccination is not only saving oneself, but also saving the lives of other people,” he said.

As noted in the government of the region, the number of CORONAVIRUS infections continued to grow over the weekend, the number of ambulance calls exceeded 1.5 thousand per day.

According to the operational headquarters in the Penza region, 81 cases of coronavirus infection were detected per day, eight more people died. In total, about 48 thousand cases were detected in the region, 926 people died.

On June 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the aggravation of the situation with COVID-19 in the regions. “Unfortunately, the threat of coronavirus has not yet receded, in a number of regions the situation has even worsened,” he said. Russian Minister of HEALTH Mikhail Murashko also said that the incidence of COVID-19 is worsening in 65 regions.
