The Novosibirsk region received the first batch of a new vaccine against COVID-19

The Novosibirsk Region received the first batch of the new CORONAVIRUS vaccine KoviVak, the press service of the regional government reported.

The Ministry of HEALTH of the Novosibirsk Region reported that a batch of vaccine will be distributed to all medical organizations in the region where vaccination points operate. The amount of the drug will be distributed based on the size of the attached population to hospitals.

At the moment, there are 95 points of vaccination of the population against covid-19 in the Novosibirsk region .

In total, the region received 353.6 thousand doses of vaccines against the coronavirus GamKovidVac, EpiVacCorona and KoviVac. By May 25, in the Novosibirsk Region, 290.09 thousand people were vaccinated with the first component of the vaccine, 213.16 thousand people with the two components (completed the vaccination course).

KoviVac is the third vaccine developed in RUSSIA and approved for widespread use. In its development, a classical technique was used: the drug contains a full-fledged, completely deactivated virus, and not its fragments, as in two other Russian vaccines. The drug is stored under normal conditions at a temperature of +2 +8 degrees Celsius. The cycle of admission consists of two vaccinations with a difference between them - 14 days. CoviVac vaccination is currently approved for patients between 18 and 60 years of age.
