The number of hospitalized elderly people with coronovirus in the Novosibirsk region has increased by 10-15%. This was announced on June 3 during a briefing by Deputy Minister of HEALTH of the region Elena Aksenova.

“This week, they began to notice an increase in the number of hospitalized over 65 years old with chronic diseases in infectious diseases hospitals who did not receive vaccination,” Aksenova said.

In her opinion, the increase in the number of cases over 65 years of age is due to the fact that many people from this category were not vaccinated.

“The vaccine is now available at all vaccination points, today there are already more than 100 of them. In order to prevent new cases of CORONAVIRUS infection, it is necessary to get vaccinated,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.

Earlier, RBC wrote that at the end of May, residents of the Novosibirsk Region began to be vaccinated against covid-19 with the KoviVak vaccine. The first batch of the vaccine was delivered to the region early last week. The drug was distributed to all medical institutions in the region where there are vaccination points.
