Severe forms of COVID-19 are being detected more frequently in the Novosibirsk Region

Elena Aksenova, Deputy Minister of HEALTH of the Novosibirsk Region, said that recently, experts have begun to more often detect severe forms of the disease covid-19 . The press service of the government of the Novosibirsk region associated this with an increase in the number of patients among people over 65 years of age, as well as those with chronic diseases: diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension and coronary heart disease. Against this background, the number of hospitalizations has increased in the region.

“Currently, we note that patients who are admitted to the hospital with a moderate and severe course [of the disease] are not vaccinated. Today we walked through the wards, talked to people in the emergency room - none of them even planned to be vaccinated. We encourage you to sign up and get vaccinated. Currently, this is the only way to stop the CORONAVIRUS infection,” Aksenova said during an inspection of City Clinical Hospital No. 11 conducted by the Ministry of Health of the region.

Since April last year, City Clinical Hospital No. 11 has been operating as a distribution center for patients with suspected coronavirus. There are currently 500 patients in the hospital. The resuscitation department is almost completely filled, they said in the Ministry of Health.

Three vaccines are available in the Novosibirsk Region: Sputnik V, EpiVacCorona and KoviVac. Currently, 100 vaccination points have been opened in the region. 252.6 thousand inhabitants of the region were vaccinated with two components of the vaccine.
