In Novgorod, the police explained the visit to the Congress of Deputies by the fight against COVID

The situation with CORONAVIRUS in the Novgorod region is not easy, the authorities of the region regularly carry out routine work to check public places. So the official representative of the governor of the region, Nikolai Shestakov, in a conversation with RBC, explained why law enforcement officers came to the meeting of municipal deputies held in Novgorod.

“Practically every day, employees of the Ministry of Industry do this in shopping malls, in public transport - the Ministry of Transport. This is an absolutely routine job of checking public places,” Shestakov said.

Among those detained on Saturday are former Moscow municipal deputy Yulia Galyamina and St. Petersburg municipal deputy Vitaly Bovar. They will spend the night at the police station before trial, which is scheduled for May 23.

The municipal deputy of the Ostankino district, Sergei Tsukasov, told RBC that the work of the Zemsky Congress was blocked due to violations of anti-COVID measures. Sergei Vlasov, deputy of the Pechatniki district, noted that protocols were drawn up against everyone who was in the room under the coronavirus article 20.6.1, part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of RUSSIA. A protocol was also drawn up against Galyamin under Art. 19.3 (disobedience to a police officer).
