The authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region recommended that residents wear masks due to an increase in the incidence of CORONAVIRUS. Rospotrebnadzor's recommendation was included in the governor's decree "On the introduction of a high alert regime," the government's press service said.
“Nizhny Novgorod residents and guests of the region are recommended to wear protective masks in public places, crowded places, in transport and enclosed spaces at the place of work, study,” the message says.
Employees and visitors to social institutions with round-the-clock stay of people must observe the mask regime without fail.
From September 1, the authorities of the region will return the regime of mandatory self-isolation for pregnant women. From this day on, employers will have to temporarily transfer pregnant women to a remote mode or arrange a downtime.

Authorities in Russian regions began recommending that residents wear masks in mid-July, when the daily number of COVID-19 cases began to rise. Moscow and St. Petersburg were the first to do this, then Dagestan, Tatarstan and Altai. On August 19, the Kemerovo Region and Khakassia announced such a recommendation. So far, only Buryatia has introduced a mandatory mask regime.
Federal Rospotrebnadzor called on the regions to recommend wearing masks in public places, in crowded places, on transport and indoors at the place of work or study, if the incidence rate exceeds 50 cases per 100,000 population.
