20% of beds for covid patients remain free in the Nizhny Novgorod region

Starting today, another 200 beds are being introduced

About 6,200 beds for patients with CORONAVIRUS infection are currently deployed in the Nizhny Novgorod region. 20% of them remain free, but a decision was made to introduce another 200 beds from February 8. This was announced by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin.

The HEAD of the region said that the level of hospitalization does not exceed the fourth wave of the pandemic, the healthcare system maintains the necessary reserve. The number of severe and moderate patients is less than during the previous waves, however, the workload on the outpatient link has increased significantly.

“Now the federal center and the region are allocating additional funds for the purchase of medicines for the treatment of covid at home, additional payments to doctors, support for polyclinics. Decisions have been made to issue a sick leave without going to a polyclinic. This greatly facilitates the work of outpatient clinics,” said Gleb Nikitin.

To date, more than 1.8 million residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region have been vaccinated against covid-19 , including more than 1.6 million people who received two applications. There are 188 vaccination centers in 94 medical organizations. 33 mobile brigades have been formed.

More than a hundred minors have been vaccinated against coronavirus in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
