Over the past day, 4357 cases of infection with coronavirus infection COVID-19 have been detected in Moscow , another 106 people have died. In St. Petersburg  , 1941 cases of the disease were detected, 101 people died, follows from the data of the operational headquarters.

More than 100 deaths in the capital have been detected since June 27, the maximum was recorded on June 28 - then 124 people died from the virus. In St. Petersburg, the peak of deaths occurred on June 29, when 119 people died.

In total, in Russia, the daily increase in people infected with coronavirus on July 18 amounted to 25,018 people. The index stays above 25 thousand for the fourth day in a row.

Sobyanin announced a halving of new cases of COVID-19 Society

In mid-June, against the backdrop of an increase in the incidence of coronavirus, many regions introduced mandatory vaccination of part of the working population. The Moscow authorities were the first to report this. So, 60% of employees in catering, trade, transport, housing and communal services and energy should be vaccinated against coronavirus. They should have received the first component of the vaccine (or single-component vaccine) no later than July 15th. The mandatory vaccination process must be completed no later than August 15. Later, St. Petersburg also joined the initiative. 

Earlier, Sobyanin specified that about 2 million people had been vaccinated in Moscow over the past month, while only 1.7 million had been vaccinated six months earlier. As of June 17, 1.1 million people were vaccinated in St. Petersburg.
