The Ministry of Health explained the shortage and overload of medical workers

The burden on medical workers has increased due to mass vaccination against coronavirus. Oksana Drapkina, chief freelance specialist in therapy and general medical practice of the Ministry of Health, stated this to RBC.

“This is a priority task for the healthcare system not only in Russia, but throughout the world, because vaccination is the most important weapon in the fight against the pandemic. All healthcare has been working with a colossal load for a year and a half,” Drapkina said.

She also said that the Ministry of Health, together with Rosatom, developed guidelines for optimizing the vaccination process and sent them to medical institutions throughout the country. These recommendations describe in detail the algorithms for the actions of all participants in the vaccination process.

Doctors involved in vaccination reported an overload and shortage of doctors Society

According to Drapkina, digital services are being introduced in the regions that make it easier to process documents — entering patient data into the register, drug series, withdrawing a drug from circulation in the labeling system. Also, in order to speed up the vaccination process, medical volunteers are involved in the work, who tell Russians about vaccination and help doctors fill out documents.

Previously, a survey was conducted in the Doctor's Directory mobile application, during which it was found that 85.4% of healthcare workers involved in the COVID-19 vaccination campaign are experiencing work overload. 66.6% of them believe that the quality of medical care has decreased because of this.
