The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the absence of plans to introduce QR codes in trade

The Ministry of Industry and Trade is not discussing the introduction of QR codes in trade in Moscow, by analogy with cafes and restaurants. This was stated by the deputy HEAD of the department Viktor Evtukhov in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.

“It’s one thing to be restricted in restaurants, it’s completely different to trade. Coping with the flow of people who need to scan the code is a rather difficult task, it can irritate people, ”the deputy minister explained.

He also expressed hope that the introduction of QR codes would not be required in the non-food trade either.

“I have a great hope that, given the pace of vaccination and the development of herd immunity, such a decision will not have to be made,” Yevtukhov said.
