The Ministry of Digital Development is going to provide QR codes to about 9 million people who have recovered from COVID

By June 20, the Ministry of Digital Development intends to provide about 9 million people who have recovered from CORONAVIRUS infection with QR codes. This was announced on the air of the Russia-24 TV channel by Deputy Minister Oleg Kachanov.

According to him, there is a single register of those who have been ill in the information resources of the Ministry of HEALTH. Now the Ministry of Digital Development is setting up integration with it, so that, as Kachanov explained, the QR code is shown not only to those who have been vaccinated, but also to those who have been ill.

“According to our plans, on the 30th, we may even adjust a couple of days to the left, we will do this integration, and we are for those who have been ill, and there are about 9 million such records in the register, we will get them. We will, accordingly, mark (compare) them with the accounts of the State Services portal, and for those whom we find, we will also show the certificate of the recovered person, the QR code of the recovered person, ”Kachanov explained.

The deputy HEAD of the Ministry of Digital Development also added that the ministry will provide a technical platform for all regions that will introduce QR codes.

Earlier, the Moscow authorities announced a decision after June 28 to introduce visiting restaurants and cafes only with a QR code. QR codes will be available to: those who received the second component of the vaccine or a single-component vaccine, citizens with a negative PCR test result, and those who have had covid-19 (if no more than six calendar months have passed since the date of recovery). Initially, they wanted to extend this rule to children, but on June 24, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin agreed to let children, accompanied by their parents, go to catering establishments without QR codes. A similar system is going to introduce the authorities of the Moscow region.
