Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has declared a state of emergency in the city due to a sharp increase in the number of cases of infection with the omicron strain of CORONAVIRUS. He wrote about this on Twitter.

“Today I am declaring a state of emergency in London in response to the rapid spread of the omicron strain in our capital,” Khan wrote.

According to the mayor, a new strain of coronavirus has become dominant in London. However, he did not announce new restrictions to combat the covid-19 pandemic .
