
Authorities in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou have banned residents from several streets from leaving their homes due to the CORONAVIRUS outbreak, according to the Global Times newspaper.
We are talking about five streets in the Livan district, the publication clarifies. The city is reporting an increase in the risk level of the epidemic from low to medium at four streets.
According to the Global Times, residents have been asked to stay at home. Only one family member is allowed to leave the house to buy basic necessities.
All entertainment venues, indoor sports facilities, wholesale markets and children's institutions must close in the area. Restaurants are only allowed to operate takeaway. Schools must cancel classes (except for junior and senior classes).
