China reports nearly 80 new coronavirus cases for first time since September

Over the past 24 hours, Chinese authorities have recorded 78 new cases of CORONAVIRUS infection, while 59 new cases were infected within the country, the National HEALTH Commission of CHINA said. This is a record daily figure since September 16, when 84 infected were detected in the country.

Most of the cases were found in the city of Heihe, Heilongjiang province in northeast China. There , 26 people were infected with covid-19 . Another 19 Chinese have fallen ill in Inner Mongolia. In Gansu, 11 people became ill with coronavirus, in Beijing - two and in Ningxia - one. All these areas are located in the northern part of the country.

19 people brought coronavirus to China from abroad , five of them fell ill in Shanghai. Among them, seven were asymptomatic. In total, the commission reported 9581 cases of importation of coronavirus from abroad. No new deaths were recorded in China during the day.

Now 763 people are sick in China, 39 of them are severely enduring COVID-19. More than 46,000 Chinese are under medical supervision. The authorities established 1,249,288 close contacts of citizens with sick people.
