
In China, 32,943 people were infected with the coronavirus during the day on November 24, the National Health Commission said.
Symptoms of the disease, according to authorities, appeared in 3,103 patients, 29,840 people are asymptomatic. The province of Guangdong in southeast China has been hardest hit with 8,499 new cases.
The Chinese authorities divide all cases of infection detected in the country into those in which the symptoms of the disease manifested clearly and asymptomatic. In both cases, the authorities take into account whether the infected person came from abroad or became infected within the country.
All cases referred to are in mainland China. Statistics for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, which China considers its own territory, are kept separately.
During the day on November 23, 31,656 new cases of infection were detected in the country. The South China Morning Post newspaper writes that on this day, a record number of infections was set in China.
