Iran has begun production of the first batch of the Russian covid-19 vaccine Sputnik V, TASS reports.
“RDIF and Actoverco, one of Iran’s leading pharmaceutical companies, announce the production in the country of a test batch of the Russian CORONAVIRUS vaccine Sputnik V,” the vaccine manufacturer said in a statement. The drug produced in Iran will be used to vaccinate the country's population.

The Sputnik V vaccine was registered in Iran at the end of January; on January 30, representatives of RUSSIA and Iran agreed on supplies. Already on February 9, the authorities of the republic began to use it for vaccination. It was planned that during February alone, Russia would send three batches of the vaccine to the state.
In addition to Iran, own production of the Russian vaccine has existed since the end of February in Belarus, and a production line is planned to be launched in India in August, where they expect to produce 850 million doses of the drug in two months.
