It is necessary to work out the issue of introducing a rule in the legislation obliging delivery services to check couriers on bicycles for knowledge of traffic rules. This was stated by the head of the Moscow traffic police department Alexander Bykov on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel.

“Statistics show that this category [couriers on bicycles] often violates the rules of the road, including getting into an accident. Probably, it will now be necessary to work out the issue of legislative consolidation of a norm that will oblige representatives of organizations, including to accept the rules of the road for persons delivering food on bicycles, ”explained Bykov.

In September last year, the delivery service Delivery Club has already introduced a new testing system for hiring, in which potential couriers are tested for knowledge of traffic rules.
