In Germany, they talked about a plan to become independent from

Russian oil

Germany intends to become independent of Russian coal by autumn, and by the end of 2022 almost independent of Russian oil. This was stated in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung by the HEAD of the German Ministry of Economy, Robert Habeck.

“We work every day, indeed every day, and sometimes every night, to reduce dependence on Russian oil, coal and gas. Every day, even every hour, we say goodbye to Russian imports. If we succeed, then by autumn we will be independent of Russian coal, and by the end of the year we will be almost independent of Russian oil,” he said.

At the same time, Habek clarified that it would be more difficult to get rid of dependence on Russian gas, since Germany does not have its own capacities for importing LNG.

The minister, speaking about the sanctions against RUSSIA, noted that he "is responsible for the entire country." “This is not about sacrificing a little personal comfort, but about serious cuts, economic and social: in the event of an immediate ban on imports, it will be a reduction in supplies next winter, an economic recession and high inflation, hundreds of thousands of people losing their jobs, heating and electricity, including,” Khabek explained.
