The European Union announced the full vaccination of 70% of the adult population

The vaccination dates scheduled in Brussels for 70% of EU residents have been postponed several times - from April (according to initial plans) to the end of July (according to later). It was possible to do this only by the last day of August.

In the European Union, 70% of the adult population have completed the full cycle of vaccination, said the HEAD of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

“70% of adults in the EU are fully vaccinated. I want to thank the many people who made this great achievement possible,” the head of the European Commission wrote on her Twitter.

“But we must move on! We need more Europeans to be vaccinated. And we have to help the rest of the world get vaccinated too,” she added.

Von der Leyen said on July 27 that 70% of EU citizens had already received their first dose of the vaccine. At that time, 57% of EU citizens were fully vaccinated. “The Indian Delta strain of CORONAVIRUS is very dangerous. I encourage everyone who can get vaccinated,” she wrote at the time.
