The department explained the delay in terms by the fact that, taking into account the new facility, the existing electric capacity was not enough.

“As part of meeting the technical conditions for the power supply of the building complex and ensuring the uninterrupted functioning of the institution under peak load conditions, it is necessary to reconstruct the existing transformation substation and purchase a backup diesel generator,” the agency’s official response to the request says.

At the same time, the Center for Disaster Medicine does not have its own bed capacity. Teams of doctors work on the road, conduct training sessions and consultations, according to the department. The timing of the completion of commissioning and the opening of the hospital in the Ministry of Health is not called.

According to a source familiar with the progress of work, the commissioning of the facility is scheduled for the third quarter of 2021. Thus, it will take more than a year to dismantle and assemble a 50-bed hospital at a new location. It should be noted that in the Chinese city of Wuhan, during an outbreak of CORONAVIRUS, a hospital designed for a thousand patients was built in 10 days.
