The traffic jams that arose in Moscow on the evening of October 27 were formed due to the last working day of the week, a large number of trips by city residents before the non-working week period and road works. This was announced to RBC in the department of Moscow.
According to the mayor's office, traffic jams reached nine points, they were mainly formed on the Moscow Ring Road, the Garden Ring and the Third Ring Road. Work on the Novoluzhnetskaya and Riga overpasses significantly hampered traffic on them, traffic along several lanes was blocked.
“On the Moscow Ring Road, work is underway at once on 4 sections: in areas of 1, 32, 85 and 90 km, there were also many minor accidents along the entire length of the highway,” specifying that the accident also occurred at the intersection of the Third Ring Road with Butyrskaya Street in the north of the city, because for which cars and trucks occupied two lanes of the road.
Non-working days and lockdown began in Moscow Society
According to the Yandex.Traffic service, in Moscow at 17:52 on October 27, traffic jams at the level of ten points formed in 19 places, traffic jams at the level of nine points were recorded in 18 places, and at the level of eight points in 20. The service predicted an average traffic jam level of ten points by 19:00.
