Belarus will have its own CORONAVIRUS vaccine in 2022. This was stated by the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy (NAS) of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov on the air of the Belarus-1 TV channel.
According to him, a prototype of the drug has already been created, it will now have to undergo animal testing, and then preclinical and clinical studies in humans.
“We hope that next year we will transfer [the vaccine] for widespread vaccination,” Gusakov said, noting that the Ministry of HEALTH is now working on the issue of producing the drug.
Belarus launched its own production of the Sputnik V vaccine Society
Belarus was the first foreign state to allow the use of the Russian covid-19 vaccine Sputnik V. In October last year, post-registration trials of the drug on volunteers began in the country.
