Bashkiria received the first batch of CoviVac vaccine. This was reported by the press service of the Republican Ministry of HEALTH. The region received 2,340 doses of the drug.
KoviVac is a vaccine developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Research and Development of Immunobiological Preparations named after M.P. Chumakov. “Unlike its predecessors, Gam-COVID-Vac and EpiVacCorona, the Chumakov Center vaccine contains the virus, not its fragments. At the same time, the virus itself is deactivated, that is, it is neutralized and safe for humans, ”the Ministry of Health said.
KoviVac was officially registered on February 20, 2021, and has been delivered to the Russian regions since March 28. It can be vaccinated in adults from 18 to 60 years old, clinical trials in older patients are ongoing. To date, the manufacturer has released only 70,000 doses of the drug.
All three types of registered vaccines against CORONAVIRUS infection are present on the territory of Bashkiria. Previously, 372,784 doses of Gam-COVID-Vac and 8,910 doses of EpiVacCoron were received.
As RBC Ufa reported, 89 new cases of covid-19 were detected in the region per day , three people died. The total number of sick residents of the republic since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 37,318, 499 people have become victims of the infection. During the day, 118 patients were discharged, the total number of recovered was 34,939.
