In Bashkiria, one case of the Cerberus strain of CORONAVIRUS has been registered, RBC Ufa was told in the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor.
The Cerberus strain was identified in Europe in September, in RUSSIA the first cases were recorded at the end of October. This strain is a mutated variant of the "omicron" and is spreading faster than other variants of the coronavirus. On November 23, a representative of the federal Rospotrebnadzor reported six cases of Cerberus in the country.
Immunologist-allergist Vladimir Bolibok, in a conversation with RBC Ufa, noted that the omicron variant of the coronavirus had an enormous potential for mutations, but from the point of view of the clinical course, the ninja, centaur, and cerber variants are almost the same. According to the expert, the Cerberus strain is not particularly pathogenic, it does not cause any more severe lesions than the previous variants of Omicron.

It seems that it will continue indefinitely, but in fact it is not. The antibodies that arise in people who have been ill are not only antibodies to the spike protein, but the coronavirus has five more proteins that the virus seems to encode, and immunity occurs to all five proteins, so severe cases are less and less common. The population acquires herd immunity. The spike protein mutates, and the phenomenon of immune escape occurs, if you get infected, you get infected, but the disease will not be severe, because immunity to other proteins is preserved, ”says Bolibok.
In addition, the expert noted that now very few cases of coronavirus infection are detected, since the virus in most cases is either asymptomatic or mild, and people do not go to the DOCTOR. Therefore, even if there is a Cerberus outbreak, it is unlikely to be tracked, since the disease is often asymptomatic.
In total, 336.4 thousand cases of coronavirus have been registered in Bashkiria since the beginning of the pandemic. 328.2 thousand residents of the republic managed to cope with the disease, 5932 people died from covid-19 .
On November 29, the HEAD of the Ministry of HEALTH of Bashkiria, Airat Rakhmatullin, reported that the incidence of coronavirus in the region increased by 1% over the week. In the hospitals of the region, 390 beds have been deployed for the treatment of patients with COVID-19, the free bed fund is 20%.
