Bashkiria notes shortage of COVID-19 vaccines amid new restrictions

The Ministry of HEALTH of Bashkiria predicts a shortage of anti-coronavirus vaccines in a number of vaccination points in the near future. This was reported by the press service of the department.

“Everyone who was on the waiting list will be invited for vaccination as soon as the vaccine arrives at a medical organization,” the Ministry of Health noted.

The number of citizens of Bashkiria who want to be vaccinated has increased manifold due to the introduction of additional restrictions on visiting cultural institutions, public events, catering establishments and a number of others. From June 22, entry to museums, cinemas, libraries and theaters is allowed for viewers with a negative PCR test for CORONAVIRUS infection, a certificate of vaccination or contraindications to it. From June 29, the requirement will apply to restaurants with 50 or more seats, intercity transport, fitness centers, health resorts, swimming pools and other organizations.

According to the HEAD of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, the measures taken were effective. He stated this at a meeting held the day before with members of the Republican Council for Human Rights.

“I can say that people heard us. Only on Monday in the republic, the daily number of those who were vaccinated increased six times! We are increasing the volume of vaccinations. At the same time, we understand that there are difficulties with the lack of a vaccine, and where it is, there are long queues. We are systematically working to resolve these issues: we are increasing the volume of vaccine supplies, opening new vaccination points, and optimizing their work schedule,” he said.

On Wednesday, June 23, the republic received 18.9 thousand doses of the Sputnik V drug. The vaccine will be distributed to medical facilities in Ufa, Sterlitamak and Neftekamsk. A new supply of the drug, more than 100 thousand doses, according to preliminary data from the Ministry of Health, will occur next week.

Currently, 179 covid-19 vaccination points have been opened in Bashkiria , including mobile ones. The first dose of the drug was received by 462,067 people. 94% of the supplied vaccines have been spent.
