Over the past day in Bashkiria , 26 people have died from the effects of covid-19 . The total number of victims of the pandemic in the republic thus reached 4121. This was reported by the operational headquarters for the fight against CORONAVIRUS infection. A day earlier, 22 deaths were registered in the region, on December 16 - 29 deaths.

The number of infected SARS-CoV-2 in Bashkiria increased by 493 people per day. In total, 116,802 residents have become ill with coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic in the republic. 105,847 people have recovered. Over the past day, 487 patients have recovered.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign continues in the region. More than 2.1 million people have been vaccinated with the first component of the vaccine. The second component was received by 1.9 million residents of the republic.

As RBC Ufa reported, the Ministry of HEALTH of the Republic predicts the achievement of herd immunity against coronavirus in February 2022. This will happen when 80% of the region's adult population is vaccinated. To date, the best pace of the vaccination campaign is demonstrated in the Buzdyak district, where 119.1% of those to be vaccinated have been vaccinated. In second place is Chishminsky district - 114.6%, in third - Chekmagushevsky, 114.2%. Worst of all, the vaccination campaign is going on in Sibay, where 60.7% have been vaccinated. In the Burzyansky district, 63.1% received vaccinations, in Mizhhirya - 63.8%.

After December 20, 2021, the Sputnik M vaccine for children against coronavirus will be delivered to Bashkiria. The first to be vaccinated will be adolescents from risk groups - children from orphanages, residents of boarding schools and others. Vaccination will be carried out with the written consent of the legal representatives of minors, and from the age of 15 - the vaccinated themselves.
