Against the backdrop of the spread of the omicron strain of CORONAVIRUS in the coming month, anti-COVID measures may be tightened in Bashkiria. The possibility of a forced return to the need for new restrictions was announced by the Prime Minister of the Republic Andrei Nazarov.
“Many countries are taking quite tough anti-COVID measures: an Austrian energy company announced a transition to a barracks regime – employees should not leave their place of work for a month, a lockdown was introduced in the Netherlands, not all schools work in Britain and the usa . In Beijing on the eve of the Games organized "Olympic bubble". I think such measures are redundant for us today, but the situation is worrying,” the prime minister said.
According to Nazarov, taking into account the dynamics of the spread of "omicron" in the world, it is necessary to prepare for a multiple increase in the incidence of this strain in the coming weeks.
The Prime Minister stressed that the HEALTH care system of Bashkiria is ready for a new wave of coronavirus, but expressed the hope that the pandemic in the republic will be contained. According to him, the regional authorities are discussing response measures and coordinating their actions with colleagues from the operational headquarters to combat covid-19 in other regions of the country.
As RBC Ufa reported, according to the latest data, six cases of infection with the Omicron strain have been registered in the republic. Three patients arrived in the region from Turkey and Tanzania, the remaining three infected did not leave Bashkiria during the incubation period. Earlier, open data analyst Alexander Dragan, based on world statistics on the spread of the omicron strain, predicted that an explosive increase in the incidence of the disease in the republic should be expected at the end of January.
