In Austria, from July 1, the curfew introduced due to the CORONAVIRUS pandemic in November 2020, which was in effect from midnight to five in the morning, was canceled, and nightclubs, bars and restaurants closed at night were also reopened. This decision was previously taken by the government of the country. Bars and restaurants can be filled to a maximum of 75%.
The country now also allows entertainment events, weddings and other celebrations with up to 100 participants, while their participants may not wear masks. For an event with a large number of participants, you will need to obtain permission from the local authorities.
However, all these reliefs are possible only for those citizens of the country who have been vaccinated, have a negative test result for coronavirus or a certificate of recovery from covid-19 . This rule, known in the country as 3G (Geimpften, Getesteten, Genesenen Personen - vaccinated, tested, recovered people), is also enshrined in a government decree.
Austria eased restrictions due to coronavirus Society
At the same time, in public places, in public transport, in client areas of commercial premises - for example, in shops, museums and other enclosed spaces - masks that cover the mouth and nose are mandatory. However, as of July 1, shops, museums and public transport will no longer be required to wear FFP-2 respirators, which used to be mandatory when visiting public places.
The easing of measures is associated with a decrease in the dynamics of coronavirus infections. According to the official website for the fight against coronavirus in Austria, since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 650 thousand cases of infection and more than 10 thousand deaths have been registered in the country.
