The Australian state of New South Wales has raised its covid-19 risk rating and reintroduced the mandatory mask requirement in a number of public places due to an increase in the number of CORONAVIRUS infections. This is reported by the state authorities.

“Visitors as well as staff will now also be required to wear a mask in all areas of the hospital or HEALTH care facility, and not just in patient areas, as previously required,” said Deborah Willcox, Deputy Minister of Health for the region.

According to the instructions of the Ministry of Health, it is also strongly recommended to wear a mask in public transport, in closed public places and in cases where citizens cannot be at a distance of 1.5 m from each other.
