The level of herd immunity to covid-19 in RUSSIA increased from 58.2% to 60.4% over the week, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said.
Vaccination with the first component was carried out 77.8 million times, full cycle vaccination (two injections with both components or once with a one-component vaccine) - 73.1 million times.
“As Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the day before , this is not enough to consider the inhabitants of our country sufficiently protected from the CORONAVIRUS. Make a gift to yourself and your loved ones for the New Year: give immunity from the disease, it's free and safe," Golikova said.
The target for herd immunity in Russia is now 80%.
Sevastopol (90.2%) remains the leader in herd immunity in Russia. In a week, another region in terms of the level of collective immunity reached the target level - this is Chukotka (80.3%), Golikova said. St. Petersburg (79.6%) and Karelia (78.9%) are close to reaching the mark of 80%. In Moscow, the herd immunity rate is 72%, down from 72.2% last week.
