Herd immunity level in Russia exceeded 58%

Over the week, the level of herd immunity in RUSSIA increased by almost three percentage points, more than 70 million full cycles of vaccination against covid-19 were carried out in the country

As of December 17, the level of herd immunity from CORONAVIRUS in Russia was 58.2%, according to the operational headquarters. 76.5 million vaccinations with the first components of the COVID-19 vaccine were carried out, the full course of vaccination was completed 70.8 million times.

The situation has worsened in ten regions over the past week, and in three, on the contrary, it has improved, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said. The situation got worse:

in the Ivanovo region; in the Nizhny Novgorod region; in the Orenburg region; in the Ryazan region; in the Tambov region; in the Chelyabinsk region; in the Republic of Altai; in the Republic of Bashkiria; in the Chuvash Republic; in the Republic of Dagestan.

According to the headquarters, the situation improved in the Belgorod and Kaliningrad regions, as well as Karachay-Cherkessia.

The highest rate for collective immunity was recorded in Sevastopol - 88.7%. A level above 75% is demonstrated by the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, the Republic of Karelia, St. Petersburg, and the Moscow Region. In Moscow, herd immunity is above 71%, Golikova noted.
