The level of herd immunity to COVID in Russia decreased by 2.2 p.p.

The level of collective immunity to CORONAVIRUS in RUSSIA amounted to 61.9%, according to the operational headquarters for combating covid-19 . A week earlier, the indicator was 64.1%, during this time it decreased by 2.2 percentage points.

The decrease in the indicator is due to the fact that people who were vaccinated in the first place or had COVID-19 more than six months ago lost their immunity, the headquarters explained.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, in six days the number of regions with a herd immunity level above 80% has decreased from six to five. Now these are St. Petersburg (85.8%), Sevastopol (85.2%), Karelia (85.6%), Murmansk region (83.5%) and Tyva (80%). In Chukotka, which was previously one of the leaders, the indicator decreased from 80.2 to 77.8%.

The epidemiological situation has worsened in ten regions: Amur, Ivanovo, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk regions, Krasnodar Territory, Bashkiria, Dagestan, North Ossetia, Tatarstan and Chechnya.

In Moscow, the level of herd immunity was 59.5%, a week earlier it was 63.2%.
