The level of collective immunity to COVID-19 decreased in the Republic of Tatarstan to 6.9%

The level of collective immunity to coronavirus decreased in Tatarstan from 8.9% to 6.9% over the week,reports the country's operational headquarters

According to the operational headquarters of the Russian Federation, the level of herd immunity in Tatarstan is 6.9%. 2.47 million people completed the full course of vaccination, over 2.5 million Tatarstan residents were vaccinated with the first component. 

At the same time, a week ago, the level of collective immunity to COVID-19 was estimated at 8.9%, a week earlier - 10.1%. 

During the day, 43 cases of infection were detected in the Republic of Tatarstan, of which 42 patients were hospitalized. 100 people have recovered.

In Russia, the herd immunity rate is 12.3%. Whereas on June 24 it was at the level of 21.5%. 

On July 11, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov instructed to intensify work in the republic to strengthen collective immunity to COVID-19.

“In order to prevent an aggravation of the pandemic, it is necessary to intensify work on the vaccination of citizens. We see what is happening in Turkey, Italy, and other places of concentration of tourists - there the situation is not in the direction of stabilization, but on the contrary. Therefore, the issue of vaccination and immunity of citizens has been and remains relevant,” the President of the Republic said.
