British and Norwegian scientists Angus Dalglish and Birger Sørensen, in a new study to be published in Quarterly Reviews of Biophysics, claim that covid-19 was created in the laboratory, after which Chinese scientists put forward a version of the origin of the virus from bats to “cover their tracks” reports the Daily Mail.
Dalglish and Sørensen found "unique fingerprints" in the virus and evidence that it had no reliable source. Therefore, according to scientists, the virus could have appeared only as a result of laboratory manipulations. According to them, they had previously tried to publish the results of their study, but were rejected by scientific journals, which were confident in the natural origin of the virus. Now in a number of countries they are again talking about the need to revise the versions of the emergence of COVID-19, the publication indicates.
The researchers drew attention to experiments conducted in a laboratory in Wuhan between 2002 and 2019 and found that
their Chinese counterparts, some of whom work with American universities, have been researching how to modify the virus to make it more contagious. The authors of the study believe that the CORONAVIRUS found in Chinese cave bats was taken as the “basis” and a new “thorn” was added to it, ultimately the more infectious and deadly SARS-CoV-2 was obtained. The fact that the virus could be manipulated is indicated by the chain of four amino acids discovered by Dalglish and Sørensen, which have a positive charge. This allows the virus to "cling tightly to the negatively charged parts of human cells like a magnet, and thereby become more contagious," the Norwegian scientist explained.
“But like magnets, positively charged amino acids repel each other, so it is rare to find even chains of three [amino acids] in naturally occurring viruses. And a chain of four is extremely unlikely, ”he said.
Commenting on the findings of scientists, infectious disease specialist, DOCTOR of Medical Sciences Nikolai Malyshev, in a conversation with RBC, noted that there are a large number of viruses, including those from Southeast Asia with a humid and warm climate.
