Pussy Riot member Luce Stein restricted on 'sanitary case'

The Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow has appointed a municipal deputy of the Basmanny district and a member of the art group Pussy Riot, Lucy Stein, one year of restriction of freedom. This was reported in the TELEGRAM channel of the capital's courts of general jurisdiction.

She was found guilty of inciting to violate sanitary and epidemiological rules (part 4 of article 33 and part 1 of article 236 of the Criminal Code) in connection with uncoordinated protests in support of opposition leader Alexei Navalny in Moscow.

The court forbade Stein to leave his place of residence from 22:00 to 6:00, as well as to change his permanent place of residence without prior notice to the authorities, to visit places where mass and other events are held, and also to participate in these events. In addition, she was forbidden to travel outside Moscow without appropriate approval, and was also ordered to report to the criminal executive inspection twice a month.

The prosecutor's office requested two years of restriction of liberty for Stein. She was detained on a “sanitary case” on February 2, the same day that her arrest in the case of organizing an uncoordinated rally in support of Navalny, which took place on January 23, ended.
