The pharmaceutical base of St. Petersburg received 2,475 sets of doses of the CoviVac coronavirus vaccine produced by the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution named after A.I. Chumakov. In addition, according to the press service of the city health committee, the city received the EpiVacCoron vaccine in the amount of 1,800 dose sets. In the near future, the drugs will be delivered to the city's polyclinics.
Recall that the Chumakov Center (the developer of KoviVac) had previously expanded production, in connection with which the production of the drug was stopped for almost a month. The last time this vaccine was delivered to St. Petersburg was in the summer. However, it is not yet clear whether everyone will be able to take root in the scarce KoviVak in the near future. As RBC Petersburg was specified in the press service of the Komzdrav, there is already a queue for vaccination with this drug. “There is a queue - it is conducted in all clinics. I can’t name the exact number [of people on the waiting list], ”said the interlocutor of RBC Petersburg in the Komzdrav, adding that a list with points where KoviVak will appear will be published in the near future.
By phone 122, the operator told the RBC Petersburg correspondent that he did not have information about the presence of KoviVac in city clinics, and to clarify the size of the queue, he recommended contacting the clinics directly.
It should be noted that in July, the queue for vaccination with KoviVacom was about 18 thousand Petersburgers. Judging by the comments of the townspeople in the official group of the Komzdrav in VKontakte, many still want to be vaccinated exclusively with the drug from the Chumakov Center. Earlier, doctors interviewed by RBC Petersburg said that the main argument of patients who choose KoviVac is that it is produced by one of the first ways to produce vaccines, which means that, according to people, it is safer and more effective. At the same time, experts argue that there are no specific medical indications for which people are recommended to be vaccinated exclusively with KoviVacom.
According to the Komzdrav, in St. Petersburg on November 23, the stock of vaccines against COVID-19 is 755,974 doses. Most of them are Sputnik V and Sputnik Light, which the Ministry of Health recommended to use only for revaccination or for those who have already had coronavirus. Over the entire period, 2.1 million citizens were vaccinated against the coronavirus in St. Petersburg.
