At the talks with Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, the Turkish delegation proposed a model of safe tourism, which had previously been applied to Germany. This was told to RIA Novosti by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, who participated in negotiations with the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.

“As you know, Russian tourists mainly fly to Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman and less often to Izmir. If you look at the daily increase in new COVID-19 infections in these regions, you can see that they are 50% below the Turkish average. In addition, the hotels there mainly operate on an all-inclusive basis... At the first stage, we propose to start flights to these airports, then expand them to the whole of Turkey, ”said the agency’s interlocutor.

“We launched this system with Germany, it turned out to be very successful. This is what we proposed to the Russian side. Of course, everything depends on the decision of the Russian authorities. It depends on their health policy and on the decisions they make regarding traffic, we will follow them,” Ersoy added.

The Russian delegation in Turkey will assess the prospect of resuming flights Society

The Russian authorities have limited air traffic with Turkey from April 15 to June 1. Flights between Moscow and Istanbul are allowed twice a week for only two airlines: Aeroflot and Turkish Airlines.
