He said that he was worried about the situation with the increase in the incidence, and said that the fifth wave of the COVID-2019 epidemic in the region had begun.

At the same time, the spread of the omicron strain is combined with the presence of the delta strain, which can be seen from the ratio of visits to polyclinics and hospital admissions.

The day before, Elena Krasnova, the chief pediatric infectious disease specialist, noted that children began to get sick more often and more severely, the increase in severity came with the advent of new strains of coronavirus.

Krasnova stated that as part of the course of coronavirus infection, nasopharyngitis, pharyngitis, pharyngotracheitis, bronchitis, and enteritis began to occur in children from 2 to 20 times more often.
