The Bank of RUSSIA has included Tinkoff Bank in the list of systemically important credit institutions (SICIs) in Russia. He is 13th on this list - the state-owned Sberbank, VTB, Gazprombank, Otkritie, Promsvyazbank, Rosselkhozbank and several private and foreign banks, such as Alfa-Bank and UniCredit, got there before him.

Analysts interviewed by RBC believe that the Central Bank could classify Tinkoff as a systemically important player on the grounds that the bank is building an ecosystem. In June 2021, the Bank of Russia published a regular report on the regulation of ecosystems: it noted that the regulator may revise the criteria for classifying banks as SIBs and take into account, among other things, the activity of a credit institution in the development of non-core business. For "Tinkoff" inclusion in the list in the first place will mean an increase in the requirements of the Central Bank for capital. For example, now the threshold value of the basic capital adequacy ratio, taking into account allowances, is 8% for systemically important players and 7% for all others. Tinkoff has no problems with this - its indicators are already above the threshold.
