
Yandex fired two dozen American employees who were testing unmanned vehicles and delivery robots in Michigan. This is reported by The Verge.
According to the publication, all laid-off employees worked in an office in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The company explained that the decision was made in connection with the suspension of the license by state regulators.

Yandex said that on March 9, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) told the company it was suspending licenses needed for testing. At the same time, the state authorities stated that they did not suspend the licenses of Yandex. Michigan Secretary of State spokeswoman Tracey Wimmer said the company still has 14 valid state-registered manufacturer license plates.
In total, 15 Yandex employees worked in Ann Arbor. Another 21 people worked in the states of Arizona and Ohio as an auxiliary staff for delivery robots.
