Vienna has become the best city in the world in terms of quality of life. The capital of Austria again topped the rating of the analytical division of the British magazine The Economist - Economist Intelligence Unit.

The city was ranked number one for its "winning combination of stability, good culture and entertainment, robust infrastructure, and exemplary education and HEALTH services," the report said. “He has regularly held this position over the past few years, and only the covid-19 pandemic has forced the city to vacate its place in the first place,” the document says.

Copenhagen came second, Melbourne and Sydney came third and fourth, and Vancouver rounded out the top five.

Moscow was put on the 96th place in the list, and Kyiv - on the 165th out of 173 participants in the rating. The stability and infrastructure of the Ukrainian capital has been affected by the hostilities in that country, the study explains. Last year, Kyiv was not included in the rating.

In the top cities that improved their positions the most over the past year, eight out of ten places were taken by cities in the Asia-Pacific region that achieved one of the biggest successes: Hanoi rose by 20 positions, Auckland - by 25, Wellington - by 35. Cities of Western Europe , on the contrary, went down in the rankings. The magazine's experts attributed this to "increased labor strikes and civil unrest" that "undermined stability."

The last places were occupied by Damascus and Tripoli, which are hindered by "social unrest, terrorism and conflicts." At the same time, the Libyan capital has slightly improved its performance compared to the pandemic years.
