Taliban talk about US plans to provide Afghanistan vaccine against COVID

The United States has expressed its readiness to provide Afghanistan with vaccines against CORONAVIRUS, Mullah Amir Khan Muttaki, Acting Foreign Minister in the government of the Taliban (a terrorist organization banned in RUSSIA), said following a meeting with the American delegation in Doha, Al-Jazeera TV channel reports.

According to Muttaki, the Afghan delegation at the talks focused on issues of humanitarian assistance and the implementation of the provisions of the agreement between the Taliban and the United States, under which the latter pledged to completely withdraw troops from Afghanistan. In addition, Taliban representatives asked American diplomats to remove the restriction on access to the reserves of the Central Bank of Afghanistan.

Afghanistan reported 47 new cases of coronavirus and one death in the day leading up to October 8, according to the World HEALTH Organization. The total number of infections over the entire period of the pandemic exceeded 155.42 thousand. During this time, 7221 deaths were registered in the country. More than 1.5 million people have been fully vaccinated.

Earlier talks between the Taliban and the United States were reported with reference to officials from both sides by the Associated Press and Voice of America radio. This is the first meeting between the two delegations since the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan in mid-August. Terrorist spokesman Suheil Shaheen said the parties plan to revise the peace agreement that was signed last year.
