The daily number of cases of COVID-19 in the region has increased again

In the Kaliningrad region on the morning of May 8, 50 new cases of CORONAVIRUS infection were registered, of which 42 people have the disease as an acute respiratory viral infection, 6 as pneumonia, and two more are asymptomatic. 83 patients have been discharged, there are no deaths. This was reported in the regional operational headquarters.

Among the sick children are two students (Gymnasium No. 1 in Kaliningrad and a sanatorium boarding school), a student of a branch of the Moscow Academy of Finance and Law.

Among infected adults: 14 pensioners, a medical worker, two employees of educational institutions, five employees of trade and catering enterprises, two employees of industrial enterprises, one employee of a food industry enterprise, a housing and communal services enterprise, a bank, a cultural institution, a transport enterprise, 11 unemployed, seven individual entrepreneurs.

During the entire period of the pandemic, 32,230 cases of covid-19 were detected in the region . 30,697 people recovered, 490 died. 2,033 people remain under medical supervision.

As RBC Kaliningrad reported, on May 4, a new batch of vaccine against COVID-19 was delivered to the region - 17.5 thousand doses. In total, since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, the medical institutions of the region have received 112,459 sets of vaccine doses.
