The court gave Sobol a year and a half of restriction of freedom on a "sanitary case"

Sobol was accused of violating epidemiological norms in connection with the protests in January Lyubov Sobol

The Preobrazhensky COURT of Moscow passed a sentence on the former lawyer of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (recognized as a foreign agent, an extremist organization and banned in RUSSIA) Lyubov Sobol. Judge Veronika Sirategyan sentenced her to 1.5 years of restriction of freedom, RBC was told in court. Sable is forbidden to leave his home from 22:00 to 6:00, take part in mass actions, travel outside Moscow and the region, RBC was told in court.

The state prosecutor requested the same form of punishment for Sobol for a period of two years.

She, like eight other defendants in the case, is charged with incitement to violate sanitary and epidemiological rules (part 4 of article 33 and part 1 of article 236 of the Criminal Code) in connection with the January protests in support of Alexei Navalny. Sobol was the first of the oppositionists to whom the court pronounced a verdict.

Roskomnadzor explained the reason for blocking Navalny websites

Along with Sobol, the brother of the oppositionist Oleg Navalny, associates of the HEAD of the FBK Kira Yarmysh, Nikolai Lyaskin, Anastasia Vasilyeva and Oleg Stepanov, the municipal deputy of the Severnoye Izmailovo district Dmitry Baranovsky, the municipal deputy of the Basmanny district Lyusya Shtein, and also a member of the Pussy Riot group Maria Alyokhina are involved in the case. Previously, among the accused was also the Mundep of the Zyuzino district Konstantin Yankauskas, but the Main Investigative Committee of the ICR for Moscow dropped the case against him; the investigation abandoned the version that in his tweet “One for all and all for one!” contained incitement to participate in uncoordinated actions. Shortly after his house arrest, Jankauskas' father died.
