The chief state sanitary doctor of the Perm Territory, Vitaly Kostarev, said that the number of cases after vaccination in the Kama region was 692 people, or 0.1%. He said this at an online briefing on the situation with coronavirus in the region at the site of Komsomolskaya Pravda.

“After vaccination, only 692 people fell ill, which is 0.1% of the total number of vaccinated citizens,” said the head of Rospotrebnadzor.

The press service of the Ministry of Health of the Perm Territory confirmed to RBC Perm the information on the percentage of people infected after vaccination, adding that they do not know the exact number.

“The number of cases of COVID-19 after vaccination is 0.1% in the Perm region. There is no exact number,” the Ministry of Health said.

Among the reasons noted by the Ministry of Health is not fully developed immunity after the vaccine.

“As for the reasons, we note that no vaccine provides 100% protection against infection. There are cases when, after vaccination, intense immunity might not have formed yet. As a rule, immunity is established by 42 days after the completed course of vaccination. Until that time, there is a possibility of infection.
As for the vaccinated patients, they suffer the disease in a much milder form, and the vaccine also protects against death,” the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Kama region explained.

Earlier, RBC Perm reported that the chief state sanitary doctor for the Perm region, Vitaly Kostarev, signed a decree on mandatory vaccination for certain categories of people.

Employers need to organize preventive vaccinations covering at least 60% of the total number of employees with the first component of the vaccine before August 15, the second - before September 15.
