US lifts COVID-19 travel restrictions for foreigners

The United States is waiving the CORONAVIRUS vaccination requirement for foreign travelers, according to a statement published on the White House website by the administration of the American president.

In addition, the relevant requirements are canceled for civil servants and contractors, teachers and medical institutions.

"The administration will lift covid-19 vaccination requirements <...> at the end of the day on May 11, the day the COVID-19 public HEALTH emergency ends," the post reads.

On April 11, US President Joe Biden signed into law a bill lifting the state of emergency imposed due to the coronavirus on March 1, 2020. 

As of May 1, more than 88,000 new cases and 1,052 deaths were registered in the United States in a week, according to the American Center for Disease Control. In total, more than 104.5 million cases of coronavirus infection and over 1.1 million deaths have been registered in the United States.
