The Security Council announced the new tactics of terrorists to spread COVID-19

The methods of work of terrorists are changing along with the situation in the world, according to the Russian Security Council. Intentional car accidents have decreased, but there have been cases of a deliberate increase in the incidence of COVID-19

The special services of some countries of the world have already noted cases when terrorist organizations use sick citizens to deliberately increase the number of people infected with coronavirus infection. Yuri Kokov, deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council, said this in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

“Yes, indeed, attempts have already been made to use persons infected with the coronavirus to infect the civilian population. Such actions, for example, have been detected by the Indian intelligence services. In turn, local extremists were arrested in Tunisia, who illegally entered the barracks of law enforcement officers in order to infect personnel, ”Kokov said.

He noted that terrorists began to practice deliberate assaults on citizens with cars less often, which “primarily is due to the security measures taken in public places.”

In addition, terrorist organizations are actively working on social networks to “discredit the actions of local authorities in the fight against the pandemic, to create a mood of confusion and uncertainty among the population,” Kokov noted.

According to him, sociological studies conducted in the United States showed that during the period of transition to mass self-isolation, there was a significant increase in the demand for extremist content on the Internet, especially among young people. “Obviously, this process entails the expansion of the social base of radicals for extremist and terrorist purposes,” Kokov said.
