Moscow's population has increased by almost 2 million since 1990, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
“In the 1980s, 1990s, the beginning of the 2000s, the construction and development of the metro slowed down and slowed down every year. And Muscovites themselves have increased by almost 2 million since 1990, ”said Sobyanin (quoted by RIA Novosti).

In April last year, RIA Novosti conducted a study that showed that in 2017-2019, the population of Moscow grew by 2.4%. The natural increase during this time amounted to 41.6 thousand people. In addition, 257.3 thousand people moved to the capital during this time.
